Here’s our guide to the 4 home improvements you need to refresh your home.

Replacing your windows & upgrading to double glazing

Double glazing is a must-have for homes in Poole and Dorset. In the last few months, we have seen energy bills begin to creep up. Now more than ever we need to be focusing on heating our homes for less and reducing our heat loss. At Poole Joinery, our double glazed window units are manufactured by sandwiching two layers of exceptionally thermally efficient glass together with a layer of insulating gas between. Our windows reached A+ energy ratings whilst achieving incredibly low U-values.

Adding an additional room with a glazed extension

Home square footage is a hot commodity, now more than ever. With the housing market experiencing shortages of homes and families ever-expanding. When you’re adding a glazed extension to provide additional space to your home your best option is to either choose a conservatory or an orangery.

A modern orangery

An orangery is a brick structure that incorporates large windows and either a flat roof or a statement roof lantern. Although an orangery allows less light into your home, adding a roof lantern can flood your home with natural light whilst keeping your orangery comfortable all year round.

Adding an orangery will provide you with a much-needed additional room. An orangery is often considered a traditional extension due to how seamlessly it blends with the rest of your home. An orangery is a versatile choice that can be built and designed with any room in mind. At Poole Joinery, we go above and beyond to fulfil all of our customer’s wants and needs. Previously, we have constructed orangeries that have been used as offices, kitchens and dining rooms.

A classic conservatory

A conservatory traditionally features more glass than any other extension. Glass roof conservatories are the ideal choice when you’re looking to brighten and lift your home. If you’re looking for a conservatory that is able to provide unmatched levels of thermal efficiency, look no further than a tiled conservatory roof. We can also fit a tiled roof with full-length glass panels so you can still receive the benefits of a glass roof. Use your conservatory however you choose, we’ll work with you to design your dream glazed extension. We offer a selection of styles to suit your property and intended purpose.

  • Victorian
  • Edwardian
  • Gable
  • Lean-to
  • T-shape
  • P-shape

A conservatory is such a bright and versatile room that many of our customers have told us it’s their favourite room! Our conservatories are all incredibly thermally efficient ensuring that their comfortable all year round.

Composite is the superior material for an entrance door. Our composite doors feature a solid timber core for additional thermal properties. The GRP (glass reinforced plastic) skin that is applied to the door, is resistant to marks, damage and warping.
